  • I've been lazy updating. Just spending a lot of time at work, so when I do have time, I just want to relax and do nothing. When I am at home, all I want to do is just spend time with my special girl.

Just hard now because all you do is spend your time working or spend your time with your company. If you do have days off, it can be hard to coincide them with people that you want to see. Guess that's how life is always going to be.

I just got displaced from Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX to Chicago, IL. It means that I didn't choose to come, rather the company needs me to move.

It's cold here, temperatures ranging from 23 degrees F. to 33 degrees F. Snowed a little bit, but hasn't snowed in the past 24 hours. So, the area is still covered in a little snow and some areas still have ice on them.

You guys probably don't read the entry and probably just want to see some pictures.

I cleaned and oiled my K&N Air Filter:

Also changed my light bulb that was behind my HVAC controls on the van. Changed my lightbulb for the license plate light also.

Went to the UFO museum in Roswell, NM. Cost $5, what a rip.

I celebrated my 5 years anniversary with my girl by taking her to a bathhouse where we spent two hours trying out the hot tub, sauna, and giving each other massages. We then walked around Polk St. and I took her to dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill in San Mateo. Spent the rest of the evening watching Hancock together. We didn't take any pictures though because we were too busy enjoying ourselves.

    Have a Happy Holidays!

  • Fort Walton Beach, Florida

I got lucky this week and got a five day trip.

Went to Torreon, Mexico for an overnight. Then went back to Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (DFW); Fort Walton Beach, Florida overnight; back to DFW; Tyler, TX; and overnight in Waco, TX. Back to DFW and Roswell, NM overnight.

The trip went off on a crappy start because I just could not sleep in Torreon, Mexico. The hotel had a horrible Internet connection also, so I couldn't even talk to my girl. I don't want to run up my cellphone with international rates. I could have sworn I heard machine gun fire in the morning too because I know what firecrackers sound like and it did not sound like firecrackers.

The most beautiful place was Fort Walton Beach, Florida and it was such a lucky treat. It is usually an overnight for the senior crewmembers.

Just wish my girl was there with me to enjoy the fun and the sun with me!

I even saved a seat for my special lady.

It was a clean beach and very beautiful!

The sand on this Gulf coast beach is so fine. Finer than sugar, very different compared to the sand on West Coast beaches.

The hotel is right on the beach front.

The water was fairly clear and did not look polluted.

  • Osseous Surgery

I just got back from 2 1/2 days off in San Francisco and it was really nice to see and spend my time with my babe. We went out to eat together and of course I had to take her shopping because that's what a lot of girls like to do. We also played around with her new Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS she bought.

Bad news is that I went to the peridontist to get checked on the progress of my deep cleaning I got a month ago. Most of my peridontal pockets have closed up, but unfortunately not my rear upper quadrants. I still have 6mm pockets there and she recommends osseous surgery. So, the deep cleaning couldn't clean those peridontal pockets out. With the osseous surgery, the peridontist will cut a flap of my gums to expose the roots of my affected teeth to visually see what kind of build up there is. She will then descale and clean it and if she has to, she will contour my bone that my tooth is attached to to reduce any peridontal pockets. I don't think I need my bones contoured though. I will get stitched up and she recommended trimming my gums so that I can actually clean my teeth myself when I floss and brush. Other wise the pocket will be too deep for me to clean. The most painful thing is it's $900/quadrant and half of my deductible was used on my deep cleaning already.

My external hard drive also failed, but it is still under warranty. Unfortantely warranty does not cover data that is on the drive.

I flew to Alexandria, Louisiana a couple of weeks ago and it was kind of sad when I got there because we saw all these people at the hotel there that were evacuating from Hurricane Gustav. We stayed at the Holiday Inn.

    Trips 001

It was very humid there and very quiet. Didn't see any big name stores around and there was no place to eat.

    Trips 002

I ended up finding a McDonald's and it was inside a hospital. I got myself the two cheeseburger meal.

  • My Birthday Celebration

My birthday was fun. My good friend, Henry, took me to lunch at Kitaro and he showed me the new house he bought. It was a really nice place and wish I could make enough money to buy stuff that I want.

For dinner, I went out with friends to California Pizza Kitchen and had a ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Then we went bowling at Yerba Buena after. It was really nice to hang out with friends I haven't seen for a while and most importantly it was fun to spend with my babe and be able to celebrate in San Francisco.

I just wish it was an all day celebration, but everyone is working and very busy nowadays.

Didn't do much also because I had to come back to Dallas/Ft. Worth the next day.

I don't remember making a wish, but it was sure embarassing when everyone was singing Happy Birthday.

  • Training Complete

    Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't had time to write a new entry in. I have been busy with training at work.

I have successfully completed the training program at American Eagle Airlines and I start Friday.

The past couple of weeks I have been doing Initial Operating Experience (IOE). That is where I actually sit next to a Captain-Instructor-Check Airman and actually do flights with him carrying passengers to destinations. It's where I actually incorporate all the training I have done so far into the line flying.

It was fun and I think I will like the job a lot, but I will probably feel really drained and tired because I will be stuck with the bad schedules as the new rookie.

Been to a lot of new places and many of them I went to for the first time:

    Springfield, MO

    Ft. Smith, AR

    Columbia, SC

    Knoxville, TN

    Mobile, AL

    Baton Rouge, LA

    Houston, TX

    Chicago, IL (O'Hare International)

    Peoria, IL

    Ft. Wayne, IN

    Ft. Walton Beach, FL

I just wish I had a camera to take pictures, but my camera is too big to be carrying around. I overnighted at some nice hotels and just wish I could share the experience with my babe and show her what I do at work. I also wish I could show my parents what I do at work too.

Just really nice to take people to where they need to go and I really enjoy hearing how they thought the flight was nice as they get off the airplane.

Just stressful now to look for a place to sleep in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX and also stressful looking for a car.

But going to do my best to go home and see my babe on my days off. Just nice that I get the privilege of flying all the time to go back home to see my babe and family. It makes the time I spend with my babe a lot more precious.

I got to celebrate her 24th birthday at MoonStar Buffet in Daly City:

    Babe's 24th Birthday 006

I got the chance to watch Batman: The Dark Knight. I thought it was really good and the music made it a lot better. I am listening to the soundtrack right now.

I will be in San Francisco, CA until Thursday and I will be leaving for Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.
